The Work included in this Project forms an integral part of the GHATAPRABHA VALLEY DEVELOPMENT SCHEME, which is
one of the major Irrigation Schemes taken up for execution by the GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA. The Project in brief,
envisages the formation of a Reservoir by constructing DAM about 60m High and about 10,000m Long (including
Dykes) across the Ghataprabha River near Hidkal Village in the Hukkeri Taluka of Belgaum. District. The gross
capacity of the Reservoir is about 51 TMC. The water thus impounded in the Reservoir is proposed to be utilized
for Irrigation.
The Kadabagatti Tunnel is constructed on the Right Bank Canal through Kadabagatti Hills. The total length of the
Tunnel is about 6.09 kms. (including Approach and Exit Cuts).
The KABBUR TUNNEL is on CHIKKODI RIGHT BRANCH CANAL. The Tunnel site is situated near Kabbur Village in Taluka
Chikkodi of Belgaum District. The length of the Tunnel is 4.01 kms. (Including Approach and Exit cuts).
